Monday - You and your classmates will take our first of three Reading Inventory assessments and a Unit 1 pretest. Both tests will serve as a benchmark to help me understand your current Lexile score and your current reading comprehension skills concerning Coming of Age narratives. You will also have an opportunity to sign up for a Schoology account (please see above). For 2nd and 4th Block we will revise our topic sentences from last week's written assignment, What's in Your Sack?
Tuesday - Today we will explore the theme Coming of Age or bldungsroman. We will read and annotate Bliss at the Burger Bar, a short story about Bliss an 18-year girl who dreams of managing her own restuarant.
Wednesday - in collaborative groups, you and your colleagues will revist Bliss at the Burger Bar to explore examples of diction, imagery, syntax and voice.
Thursday - We will take a 9th Grade Literature Summative assessment. For those who finish early you will preview the vocabulary for Friday's text.
Friday - We will read On the Sidewalk Bleeding and relate it back to our theme of Coming of Age.
